Car Wash: We Get it. It’s About Speed

Our Process – The Washology Difference

We love the car wash industry but some of what they do is unsubstantiated and some would even say gimmicky. Washology is our attempt to get away from that and get back to the science, which there is plenty. Washology  is the evidence based approach of washing and detailing a car — while sanitizing the inside. Outside the car, it’s the use of high pH presoak followed by a low pH foaming arch in an environment of friction. All the detergent is then washed off using high pressure Omni 350’s. This now pH neutral surface is appropriately prepared for the hydrophobic triple polish and wax. This sequence allows us to take “clean, shiny dry” for granted. Inside the car, washology focuses not only on aesthetics but  on sterilizing the germ factories of the interior. It is the use of  steam and cleaning products that are safe for the vehicle but have also been proven to kill bacteria.

We are the washology experts and we don’t mind that people think we’re nerds about it.

Our Equipment:

Years ago people made a big deal about touchless. We think it’s passé. Nothing, nothing cleans better than friction. The difference now is that the equipment has become both more forgiving and more precise. Some of our equipment is infinitely adjustable. Come watch our brand new AVW wraps  and follow how they clean the back of your vehicle — with trailer hitch and all. There is precision in everything in our tunnel from the rollers that touch your tire to the wet environment blower that is exactly 40 inches from the last rinse arch. Everything is meticulously laid out.

Our Chemicals:

It’s easy to make soap and that’s part of the problem. Colloquially in the industry many of the chemical companies are called “bathtub blenders”. We don’t use them. We don’t think  saving money on the stuff that goes on your paint is a good idea. We use Simoniz products. Period.

Our Speed:

We know the single most valuable thing you have is your time; we’re obsessed with doing things efficiently. Everyday we monitor the average length of stay for a car on our lot and that number is put prominently in the staff break room. We’re all hyper-aware of this and see our desire to make your stay short, our differentiator. Of course we have peak periods and weather issues and judging staffing needs is at times a challenge. Still if ever you feel you have been waiting one minute more than you should, please ask to speak to the manager.

Your Convenience:

We’re conveniently located beside University Park Village and across from The Fresh Market. We want you to do the other things that are important to you while we clean or detail your car. We would like to offer you 2 services:

1) Provide us your number and we will text you when your car is ready.

2) Drop your car off and we will shuttle you within a 5 mile radius. You can Uber it back to us. You won’t miss a beat at work or your tee time at Colonial. Shoot if we’re not overly busy, we may even come get you — just text us.
